Tim

Tim is a member of the Hangman’s Horde. He is first seen in the Annex in an early panel. Barnes, an apparent neighbor of his and Ricky’s, says that he has been "called in,” and Tim says he can cover Barnes’ shift “watching the fires.”

That night, Tim is watching fires of a different kind alongside the other members of the Horde. Hank and the Hangman’s Horde have arrived and are razing the slum.

When Ricky says, “I might have Marcus’ money,” thinking that Hank is Abarth, Hank concedes to Tim, “You’re right. Marcus’ money,” as though there had been some discussion of which slumlord controlled this neighborhood.

When Ricky reaches for the pamphlet in his satchel, Hank commands Tim to retrieve it from him. Tim takes possession of Ricky’s satchel and leaves with the Horde when they drive back across the frontier toward the Wilderness.

Issue 02

As Hank and the Hangman’s Horde drive through the Wilderness, we hear the tail end of a conversation between Hank, Sid, and Tim. Tim tells Hank about a person named Perry who they are supposed to meet about a tunnel. Hank asks whether Marcus controls the tunnel, which Tim thinks is unlikely. Tim tells Hank he thinks it was good of him to spare Ricky’s life. Hank praises Tim for a job well done.

Sid blames Tim for Hank’s distraction with “this… city stuff.” He feels Hank has lost focus and is putting too much importance on fighting Boomtown and too little on conquering the Wilderness tribes. Tim says Joan has decided fighting the other tribes wouldn’t be worth the losses, to which Sid replies “Better to die in a real fight than to dig our own fucking graves.”

Tim touches a nerve when he says, “It’s kind of like when you left your birth tribe, right?” Sid attacks Tim, choking him and offering to show him “what happened“ to his birth tribe. When Tim surrenders, Sid threatens, “Then you’d better hope your tunnel idea works out.”
